Ingredients (4 people):
- 200 gr. flour
- ˝ litre of water
- salt
- ssesame oil for frying
- sugar
- cinnamon powder
Preparation:
Heat ˝ litre of water in a pot with a little salt. Place the flour on a cutting board. When the water is ready, gradually pour it over the flour as you stir to form the dough. Let stand a few minutes and then roll it out with a rolling pin until it is 3-4 millimetres thick. Use the dough to make several cylinders (usually a special syringe called a “churrera” is used to give the churros their shape or you can also use a heavy duty piping bag with a rather large tip).
Fry the churros in plenty of hot oil. It’s important to give the dough the rounded shape as it falls into the oil.
When they are golden on one side, turn them. Once they are ready, take them out and place them on an oil colander or on paper towels. If you’d like, you can add sugar or cinnamon to taste when you eat them. Another idea is to serve them with coffee or hot chocolate.
